Doman ratified his candidacy for president of Independiente and targeted Moyano

In addition, he clarified that on the part of the barrabrava of the Avellaneda club, which has three factions, he did not receive any type of contact: “No one called me. I have received no threats or warnings. I go to the court and nobody says anything to me. They all know what I want. Since I don’t need the bars, they don’t call me. When there has to be contact, someone will do it, not me.

When asked what his political strategy would be and what slogan he would use, Doman was blunt: “You have to make the partner, the partner, return to the court and believe. A slogan could be ´Let the people believe again´”. “I want to recover Independiente as a social beacon of the south, which it was. I am going to ask the authorities to ensure that people return to the field, ”he stressed about security in the stadiums. Regarding the election issue, the candidate stressed that “the electoral board is going to define elections that will be at the end of the year, at the latest.” In addition, he clarified: “I would not leave the TV. All leaders have other jobs. Yes, I promise to go to the club every day”.

Finally, he left a message to Moyano and the ruling party, in which he asked for transparency for the candidates: “We don’t know if we are going to inherit a technician, but it would be good for the ruling party to tell us what it wants to do. For example, I love ‘Rolfi’ (Daniel Montenegro) very much, but we don’t know what he does at the club. I don’t know who pays his salary or how much he earns.”

Graf era began

Coach Claudio Graf directed his first practice yesterday morning as an interim in charge of the Independiente squad, replacing Eduardo Domínguez, who yesterday presented his resignation due to poor results and leadership chaos. Graf, who was in charge of the Reserve, will be the coach, in principle, in next Saturday’s match against Rosario Central, for the eighth date of the Professional League.

From the leadership, headed by President Hugo Moyano and Héctor Maldonado, together with sports advisor Daniel Montenegro, they must make the decision about who will be Domínguez’s successor. One of the options would be to keep Graf until he finishes the tournament so as not to make a hasty decision regarding the future coach, especially also in light of the upcoming elections.

Some of the names that sound like options to take charge of Independiente are Gabriel Heinze and Frank Kudelka. The 34-year-old “Gringo” is unemployed after his time at Atlanta United, of Major League Soccer, in 2021, while in Argentina he directed Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors and Vélez. Meanwhile, Kudelka is also without a team, after leaving Huracán last May.
