Joshua Kimmich is committed to FC Bayern Munich for the next four years. A hefty salary increase is said to be associated with it.
FC Bayern Munich has prematurely extended midfielder Joshua Kimmich’s contract for another two years. The German record champions officially announced this on Monday.
The new working paper from Kimmich now runs until 2025. Both parties had probably already come to an agreement after a meeting last week, after which the Allianz Arena also shone with the abbreviation ‘JK6’.
Bavaria sweetened that signature loudly for the 26-year-old image with a hefty raise. Kimmich, who has received around ten million euros a year to date, will apparently earn almost double that amount in the future, i.e. almost 20 million euros. With that he would catch up with the two captains Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller in the club’s internal salary ranking, only star striker Robert Lewandowski deserves even more.
FC Bayern: Joshua Kimmich negotiated the new contract himself
Incidentally, Kimmich negotiated the new contract in person. In April, Kimmich parted ways with his consulting agency: “This is a conscious decision that I made last year. I have decided that I will stand up for my values and my views even more and that I want to live up to my personal responsibility.” he said at the time.
Kimmich has played for FC Bayern since 2015 and is considered the captain of the future. To date, he has made a total of 261 competitive games for Munich, with which he won six German championships and the Champions League in 2020.
