Prime Minister António Costa welcomed this Sunday the participation of the Portuguese handball and women’s under-20 football teams in their respective European championships, considering their performance as a credit to the country.
“I applaud the Portuguese women’s under-20 football and handball teams that have played decisive matches for their participation in the European Championships. Congratulations to our U20 European runners-up handball players and our footballers for the way they have honored Portugal,” wrote Antonio. Costa on the social network Twitter.
In England, in Leigh, Portugal were excluded from the UEFA Women’s European Football Championship today after losing 5-0 to Sweden in the Group C third and final round match.
