Portuguese Edgar Pinto was suspended for four years by the International Cycling Union (UCI) for “use of prohibited methods and/or substances” with a sanction valid until October 2024.
According to the updated list of UCI penalties, Edgar Pinto’s suspension is valid until October 15, 2024, and his results will be canceled between July 31, 2018 and October 16, 2020, including third place at the Tour of Portugal in 2018, which it is “inherited” due to disqualification, including for doping, of the first classified Spaniard Raul Alarcón.
The 36-year-old cyclist from Albergaria a Velha, preventively suspended since October 2020, also lost his 2018 Señora da Graça stage victory, “inherited” also from Alarcón, and the final fifth place in the edition. 2019 of the “royal” race of the national calendar.
