PSG’s contract negotiations with Kylian Mbappe continue. The French are apparently already arming themselves for an exit.
A week before the end of the transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain are still in talks with Kylian Mbappe about a possible contract extension. According to a report from RMC Sport already focused on a possible replacement should the negotiations fail.
Accordingly, PSG Mbappe most recently made an offer for a five-year contract with the option of another season as well as a salary increase that would make him the third highest paid PSG player after Neymar and Lionel Messi. The 22-year-old, who is only tied to the club from the French capital until 2022, apparently turned down the offer.
If Kylian Mbappe leaves: Richarlison as Plan B?
Should the negotiations remain unsuccessful, Real Madrid are still considered to be a hot candidate for signing Mbappe. According to the report, Los Blancos are considering an offer before the end of the transfer window on August 31.
PSG should meanwhile prepare for a possible departure of the attacking star – even if it is still conceivable that they take the risk of losing Mbappe only in 2022, but then without a transfer. The club has apparently made contact with the Everton attacker Richarlison. Should Mbappe not leave the club this summer, however, an extension will remain a top priority.
In 2017 Mbappe moved from AS Monaco to PSG for a total of 180 million euros, where he has since scored 133 goals and 63 assists in 174 appearances. In the current season, the striker was in the starting line-up in the first three games and most recently celebrated his first goal of the season in the 4-2 win in Brest.
