Moyano defended his management in Independiente, spoke about the elections and shot Doman

The president of “Rojo” confirmed the meeting of the Election Board which will take place from 19 at the clubhouse -in the center of Avellaneda– with all the groups but did not say whether the new date will be set for the elections postponed since December of last year.

“We do not set the date. That is in court and there are still 60 days. The Electoral Board has to control the presentations and they (due to an opposition list) did it wrong”explained the owner of the club since 2014, when Independent I was in the B National (today First National).

The reference of 60 days refers to the possibility that the ruling party has to appeal the ruling of the Justice that enabled the top list Fabian Doman to participate in the elections.

“We are going to do what corresponds for the good of Independiente”remarked the leader and trade unionist of the trucker’s union, 78 years old.

During the Interview, Moyano criticized the political opposition he has in the club and warned that there is “an outpost of macrismo” to settle in the clubs of the Argentine soccer.

In that line, he hit Fabian Doman for his past and his entire electoral list: “These guys get together and some are not fans of Independiente. They even use barrabravas from other clubs. They are the macrismo and services of the AFI that want to install themselves in Independiente”he underlined.

Consulted by the millionaire embargo for a debt with the former striker Gonzalo Veron, Moyano explained that the issue is in the Supreme Court and denounced “a maneuver difficult to understand”.

“The embargo was born in the middle of the pandemic and it arrived when the club was closed. Nobody found out. It is a demand for 800,000 pesos that they transformed into 6 million dollars. It seems to me that it is a difficult maneuver to understand“, held.

Moyano remembered that “never” intended to be president of Independent but they convinced him when “I was about to close the list.”

“When the money had to be put up, we took it on ourselves. Nobody was paid and the players had nowhere to train. We didn’t have the luck we need in football, but we won two cups (Sudamericana in 2017 and Suruga Bank in 2018)”he concluded.
