After a phone call with Bayern coach Nagelsmann, Hansi Flick could do without Leroy Sane from FCB in his first international matches.
On Friday, national coach Hansi Flick will announce his first DFB line-up for Germany’s World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein (September 2), Armenia (September 5) and Iceland (September 8). One name that could possibly be missing is Leroy Sane.
The Bayern player did not have a good European Championship and recently worked off the track at Bayern. Apparently, this did not escape his former coach at FCB, Flick, either.
DFB team: Nagelsmann is said not to have had “many positive things” to say about Sane to Flick on the phone
In a telephone conversation in the run-up to Bayern’s Bundesliga match against 1. FC Köln (3: 2), Julian Nagelsmann is said not to have had “many positive things” to say about Sane to his predecessor in Munich Sports buzzer reported.
That in turn strengthened Flick in his opinion that Sane might not be nominated, as the report goes on to say. Even when he was introduced as national coach, Flick had the SZ I said: “I don’t want a particularly young or particularly experienced team. I just want the best.”
In his current constitution, this description may not apply to Sane.
