PJ de Braga detained a 62-year-old bricklayer suspected of setting fire to Barroselas on the 13th, angry that the beads next to his property were not being removed.
The fire started around 21:00, next to the enterprise, in an area close to a residential building.
“The fire covered about 2 hectares of forest area, consisting mainly of shrubs and trees,” the agency said in a statement. In conditions of low humidity, combined with the availability of fuel, the fire quickly developed and expanded its perimeter, seriously endangering the production facilities of the aluminum company, several residential buildings and nearby forest areas.
According to the note, the suspect, who was arrested this Wednesday, operated with direct fire and aimed to clear the ground and paths with fire.
This Thursday, the man will appear before the competent judicial authority for the application of coercive measures.
