For Leroy Sané things are not going well at Bayern at the moment. Now the next damper could follow. After a phone call with Bayern coach Nagelsmann, Hansi Flick could do without him in his first international matches.
On Friday, national coach Hansi Flick will announce his first DFB line-up for Germany’s World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein (September 2), Armenia (September 5) and Iceland (September 8). One name that could possibly be missing is Leroy Sané.
The Bayern player did not have a good European Championship and recently worked off the track at Bayern. This has apparently not escaped his former coach at FCB, Hansi Flick, either.
Nagelsmann tends not to speak in favor of Sané
In a telephone conversation in the run-up to Bayern’s Bundesliga match against 1. FC Köln (3-2), Julian Nagelsmann is said not to have had “much positive” to say about Sané to his predecessor in Munich, as reported by the sports portal.
That in turn strengthened Flick in his opinion that Sané might not be nominated, as the report goes on to say. When he was introduced as national coach, Flick told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”: “I don’t want a particularly young or particularly experienced team. I just want the best.” In his current constitution, this description may not apply to Sane.
