ÖFB national team player Florian Grillitsch was on the notepad for several clubs, including Fiorentina and Galatasaray. So far, however, there has been nothing for the Hoffenheim professional with a change.
As is now reported, the father of the 26-year-old is said to have played a role. He had led the negotiations and gambled too high. “We didn’t like the father’s talk and his demands. We want to decide who we work with,” said Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade. The required hand money was too high for the Serie A club.
The midfielder apparently drew the necessary conclusions and returned to his advisor Thomas Böhm. “Certain things have been extremely unfortunate recently. Of course, I take responsibility for that myself,” he is quoted as saying in the “kicker”.
Most recently, negotiations with Brighton had fizzled out.
