The captain of the Upper Austrians, Marcel Ziegl, was self-critical. “We missed a lot of things that should be standard. We got off lightly. We can’t be satisfied with this performance.” Heinle saw a reason for the mixed performance in the lack of experience of some of his protégés. “We brought in a lot of players from the academy and the 2nd division, and sometimes they don’t yet know how to play in the Bundesliga.”
Due to some key injuries (Matthias Gragger, Nikola Stosic, Julian Turi), the Innviertler are looking for reinforcements. “We absolutely have to do something on the transfer market now, we agree with the sporting leadership. We urgently need a six, but don’t want to rush things,” explained Heinle.
Curiously, Lustenau coach Markus Mader could be satisfied with his team’s performance despite the defeat. “A point would have been possible, but we can be proud to have stood up to them.
