Sarmiento took advantage of the momentum and beat Lanús in Junín

One thing leads to another: in their race to avoid relegation, the Junín team got into Copa Sudamericana positions.

Lanús, on the other hand, and although his previous good campaigns prevent him from worrying about averages for now, he accumulated his second consecutive loss since the arrival of Frank Darío Kudelka as DT and remains in last place in the table.

The match was broken after two minutes: Julián Aude, who reappeared after a suspension date due to his expulsion in the defeat against Gimnasia y Esgrima LP, hit Mainero with a tremendous iron and saw a direct red card. He left crying.

The visiting idea with a scheme of two full-backs (Aguirre on the right and Aude himself on the left), that is, alternating 5 and 3 in defense, was pulverized in that action and even worse: before Kudelka could rearrange the drawing tactic came the opening of the marker for Sarmiento.

It was at 6m, with a good goal from “Licha” López with a right volley, without marks, in a corner executed by Mainero.

Sarmiento was managing the rhythm and climate of the stage, always with the criteria of Lucas Castro, but he did not have depth: except for two approaches with two separate headers by Torres, he did not reach Monetti’s goal again in danger.

And Lanús, a little because the locals allowed it, had a good share of possession despite being outnumbered. He also had an excellent chance to equalize, at 31m, with a frontal free kick from Aguirre that Andueza “combed” and almost converted against his fence with Meza already defeated.

When the initial period seemed to end with the minimum advantage, Sarmiento’s second came: Meza served from his field, Torres headed, Mainero did the same and López brought out his goal scoring profession, defining with two touches in one second.

Lanús tried to react from the start of the complement and dominated the ball in the face of a certain passivity from Israel Damonte’s men, but friction, complaints and protests prevailed over the game and the show became lackluster and without risky arrivals on goal.

Until the “Garnet” achieved the discount just at a time when the local settled after two changes. At 24m Brian Aguirre shot from outside the area, the ball hit Sauro’s leg, dislodged Meza and the difference was reduced to a minimum.

The party gained emotion and drama. The premises showed a reaction and Lanús went with pride. And although in that fight the visitor was close to equality, it was not enough: Sarmiento held on (even more so, in the closing minutes he generated chances for the third) and kept three other fundamental points.

On the next day, the number 13 of the contest, Sarmiento will visit Huracán (Friday 12 from 19) and Lanús will receive Independiente (Saturday 13 from 18).
