Table leader Edelweiss Linz is a guest tonight (7.30 p.m.) at the reigning Upper Austrian league champions Weißkirchen.
With Edelweiss for the first time: Ronald Riepl. The 42-year-old, who looked after league competitor Pregarten last fall, follows Harald Kondert. Most recently, team manager Manfred Rothbauer took over the first day of play on an interim basis.
“I’ve had one or the other offer since my resignation in Pregarten – but it never suited me. Edelweiss tried very hard for me and I’m excited about this task,” says Riepl, who is employed by the football association in Linz and thus only a two-minute walk to the sports field of his new club. Today, after the 5-0 home win against Stadl-Paura, a strong opponent awaits in Weißkirchen. Riepl: “We’ve only had two training sessions together. But I’ve set the boys up well and we want to take something countable with us.”
