Antoine Griezmann has left FC Barcelona, and the Catalans are replacing them in Seville: Luuk de Jong is coming to Camp Nou on loan.
FC Barcelona made the loan from striker Luuk de Jong perfect just before the summer transfer window closed. As the Catalans announced early on Wednesday morning, the Dutchman is initially coming to Camp Nou from Sevilla FC for a year.
Thereafter, Barca will have a purchase option in the summer of 2022. De Jong is the replacement for Antoine Griezmann on the team of coach Ronald Koeman, who returned to Atletico Madrid on Deadline Day.
Luuk de Jong: Now to Barca after two years at Seville
De Jong moved from PSV Eindhoven to Seville in 2019, where he will remain under contract until 2023. For the Andalusians, he scored 19 goals in 94 competitive games, mostly fluctuating between the starting eleven and the joker role.
From summer 2012 to January 2014, the now 31-year-old also played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Mönchengladbach, but could not convince there.
