Blau-Weiss Linz is on the spot – 1:1 against GAK

Linz were closer to their second win of the season: Matthias Seidl made it 1-0 (36 ‘) after Ronivaldo’s header was discarded. Driven by Michael Liendl, GAK improved after the break, the 36-year-old made it 1-1 with a penalty (58’). It was Liendl’s first goal of the season for GAK, while Ronivaldo chased after the first goal at Blau-Weiss Linz.

“It doesn’t matter, it’s more important that we win,” said the Brazilian. Anteo Fetahu (80′) and Matthias Seidl, whose shot hit the post (85′), missed the opportunity to do so. “You have to win the game. We have to take advantage of the chances,” said coach Gerald Scheiblehner.

In four laps his team was eight points behind Horn. Scheiblehner remains calm: “If we continue to play like this, victories will come.”

Forward Steyr lost 1:2

ForVorwarts Steyr, the offensive line-up without the suspended stabilizer Alem Pasic backfired against FAC – 1:2. “We started with a gift,” said coach Daniel Madlener about the 0:1. The only positives from a forward perspective were the comeback of Ikenna Ezeala and the debut of 16-year-old Eman Lidjan. Madlener: “The bottom line was that there was a lack of penetrating power.”
