Montenegro, young promise of the TC2000, kept his first victory in San Nicolás

The Renault driver clung to the lead and celebrated his first victory after reaching two podiums in the year: he also entered history as the second youngest winner in the category.

On August 29, 1999, Mariano Altuna won with a VW Polo in Trelew with 17 years, 5 months and 20 days, while Montenegro is 17 years, 7 months and 9 days.

“I am very happy. It is a great day that I am going to keep in my memory for the rest of my sports career. It was very difficult, even more so for having an animal like Canapino closing the gap behind me, although I have a great car that gives me confidence. We are here to fight in the championship”remarked the winner after the competition.

Bernardo Llaver (Chevrolet) and the leader of the contest Leonel Pernía (Renault Fluence) completed the main quintet in San Nicolás.

Behind were Matías Milla (Renault), Franco Vivian (Citroen), Fabián Yannantuoni (Honda), Julián Santero (Toyota) and Gonzalo Reilly (Fiat).

Facundo Ardusso, for his part, left the race prematurely due to acceleration problems in the Honda New Civic: “Something got clogged, I think it was the turbo hose and I lost power”he lamented.

The next appointment of the TC2000 will be on September 11 at the El Villicum circuit in San Juan.
