Multi-billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne has once again offered HSV money – for more power and influence. President Marcell Jansen is now announcing the decision of the second division club.
Already on Saturday, the HSV fans in Bielefeld expressed their opinion on the offer from billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne with rough words. With banners (“Anchored in the statutes. 75+1 non-negotiable, Kühne piss off”), the HSV appendix showed that they didn’t think much of the 85-year-old’s offer. The man from Hamburg, who lives in Switzerland, had promised the cash-strapped HSV Fußball AG 120 million euros – in return he demanded even more power and influence. Now the club’s management has decided against the billionaire’s offer.
says the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Marcell Jansen: “Regarding the specific offer combined with Mr. Kühne’s catalog of measures, it must be said that we as the Presidium received the clear mandate from the membership to anchor the limits for the sale of shares in our articles of association. That’s what we did .” In the course of the 50+1 rule, the co-determination of the club members and economic security, “the offer made to us (…) cannot be implemented in this form,” says Jansen. “Therefore, we see it primarily as a further impetus that we will deal with.”
HSV is looking for a conversation with Kühne
The HSV board of directors explains that he will also communicate with Kühne “directly and personally”. The ex-professional also emphasizes “that there was never a break in communication with Mr. Kühne”.
After all, the supervisory board released money in its meeting with HSV President Marcell Jansen at the top on Friday evening so that sports director Jonas Boldt and coach Tim Walter can strengthen the team – even without the money from Kühne.
