The local hero from Mauthausen achieved victory with a superior lead of 1:10.4 minutes over his Mühlviertler competitors Johannes Keferböck and Martin Rossgatterer. As a thank you, Wagner also served his co-pilot Sigi Schwarz a Sachertorte during the regrouping.
After a decision by the AMF Rally Commission, according to which no replacement for the canceled Aspang Rally will be nominated, Wagner is already the national champion. His brother Julian was less fortunate in the Audi: his rally was quickly over due to a cracked drive shaft.
The Rallye Club Perg was again able to report a successful event. Of the 82 teams that started, 60 reached the Parc fermé, and a fundraiser raised 4,000 euros for the children’s cancer charity.
