Porto players Marko Grujic, Matheus Uribe and Wilson Manafa were unable to start preparations for the Classic against Sporting on Saturday in the third round of the I League on Monday, the national champions said.
Serbian Marko Grujic, who suffers from muscle fatigue, and Colombian Mateus Uribe, who struggles with gastroenteritis, were treated on the sidelines of the morning training in Olival, according to a note posted on the Blue and White Club’s official website.
The two midfielders were included in FC Porto’s clinical bulletin on Sunday, hours after being substituted during the 1-0 win at Wiesel on the second round of the Liga I, joining defender Manafe who continued training this Monday , gym and treatment for patellar tendon rupture of the right knee rescheduled in December 2021.
Sergio Conceição’s team will have a day off on Tuesday and will return to work at the PortoGaia Sports and Training Center in Olival a day later at 10:00.
Porto started the defense of the national title with two wins over Maritimo (5:1) and Visela (1:0) and continues to lead in Ligue I with the same six points as Benfica, Boavista and Vitoria de Guimarães, two above Sporting, in fifth place.
