Uruguayan Mauricio Moreira was the big winner of the Volta in Portugal 2022. The Glassdrive Q8 Anicolor cyclist, who finished second on the last day just 7 seconds behind his teammate Frederico Figueiredo, confirmed the predictions and ended up stealing the clearly better-performing yellow jersey in time trial between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
Mauricio Moreira not only stole the lead from his colleague, but also rocked the final chronograph by winning the series by over 20 seconds over teammate António Carvalho. Alejandro Marche, saying goodbye to cycling, took third place with a score of 1.05.
In the overall score, Mauricio Moreira finished 1.09 minutes ahead of Frederico Figueiredo, while Antonio Carvalho, who managed to make it to the podium on the final day, finished with 2.35 Uruguayans and completed a podium made entirely of Glassdrive Q8 Anicolor. As for Luis Fernandez of Radio Popular-Paredes-Boavista, he was fourth with a score of 3.44.
