Test hit against the cult club

“Hey, we want to see the polar bears” – not only ice hockey fans know this song from the 1990s. The German record champions and reigning DEL champions, the Berliner Eisbären, have been one of the most renowned addresses in European ice hockey for years. Today, the cult club is making a guest appearance in Linz when it comes to a test hit (7 p.m.) against the Steinbach Black Wings.

While Linz got off to a successful start in preparation with a 6-0 win over Laibach, Berlin played in the Dolomiten Cup in South Tyrol and lost 4-1 to HC Pardubice in the final.

Incidentally, there is no stranger to the gang of polar bears: coach Serge Aubin, 2017 champion with the Vienna Capitals, has been at work there for three years.

Already on Sunday the people from Linz travel to the Czech Republic, where HC Motor Ceske Budejovice is waiting for another test.
