The contest is guaranteed the presence of an Argentine in the final on Sunday, since the winner of the cross between Cachín and Mena will play in the semifinals on Saturday against Rosario Renzo Olivo (188) or the winner of the cross between Tomás Martín Etcheverry from La Plata (90) and Buenos Aires Román Burruchaga (323).

Burruchaga was leading Etcheverry 4-3 in the opening set yesterday when the match was postponed due to lack of natural light and rescheduled for no earlier than 12:30, so the winner will play again later against Olivo.
