Norberto Murao won bronze in paracanoe at the 2022 European Championships.

Portugal’s Norberto Murao won the bronze medal in the VL2 200m European paracanoe in Munich this Friday, failing to confirm the European title.

Murao, 41, repeated the bronze medal he won two weeks ago at the World Championships in Halifax, Canada, when he covered the distance in 55.472 seconds, behind Hungarian Tamas Juhas (53.948) and Spaniard Iginio Rivero (55.159).

The second European Multisport Championship takes place in Munich until next Sunday and brings together nine sports, of which Portugal is represented in seven, namely athletics, canoeing, cycling, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, table tennis and triathlon.

Portugal now has five medals, two gold thanks to Pedro Pablo Pichardo in the triple jump and Youri Leitao in the scratch track, one silver from Oriol Dongmo in the shot put and two bronze thanks to the canoeist Fernando. Pimenta on the K1 500 and now Norberto Murao on the VL2 200m.
