The news was also confirmed by former Ecuadorian tennis player Nicolás Lapentti, at a press conference: “We will have the best tennis player in history who will delight us with his presence in an exhibition match. As a former player and producer of events, and closely following Nadal’s career, it is an honor that he comes to our country”.
The rival for the maximum winner of Grand Slams (22) has not been announced yet, but according to Lapentti it will be “of international stature”.
Nadal’s trip to South America would involve visiting other countries such as Argentina (to be announced in the coming weeks), Brazil and Colombia, although it has not yet been confirmed.
