FC Porto has taken disciplinary action against Sporting’s players Matheus Reis and Sebastian Coates for incidents that occurred on Saturday in the third round of the I league, declared “dragons” this Wednesday.
Porto moved forward with disciplinary action against Matheus Reis and Sebastian Coates after aggression in last Saturday’s classic match in which both were protagonists,” the national champions said in a statement released on the official website.
In the same note, the Dragons explained the reasons that prompted the club to proceed with these disciplinary actions: “The Brazilian defender [Matheus Reis] headbutted a young catcher in the 34th minute without any prior factors that could motivate such an action. Uruguayan “captain” of the inhabitants of Lisbon [Coates] deliberately stepped on Evanilson, after he scored the first goal of the “classic”, in the 42nd minute, in order to try to harm the striker of the “white and blue”.
