Joel Pohjanpalo is likely to be on loan to Rizespor. First, however, the attacker has to extend his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Finnish attacker Joel Pohjanpalo from Bayer Leverkusen is apparently facing a move to the Turkish first division club Rizespor. Again kicker reported, negotiations about a loan for the 26-year-old are well advanced.
While the German transfer window has been closed since the beginning of September, Pohjanpalo still has until Wednesday before changes are no longer possible in Turkey. The Finn is under contract with Leverkusen until the end of the season.
Joel Pohjanpalo probably before moving to Turkey: first contract extension, then loan
According to the report, he should leave the Europa League participant this summer for a transfer of two million euros, but no suitable buyer was found. So that the loan is even possible a year before the end of the contract, Pohjanpalo’s contract with the Werkself is to be extended.
In 2013 Pohjanpalo moved from the Finnish first division club HJK Helsinki to Leverkusen, but has been thrown back from injuries since then. The national player spent the past season on loan at Union Berlin, scoring six goals in 19 appearances.
