Champions FC Porto suffered their first defeat in the Portuguese Football League I this Sunday after a 3-1 defeat at Rio Ave in the fourth round game, leaving Sporting de Braga alone in front.
Vila Condenses took their first triumph in this edition, marking their return to the top flight, thanks to two goals from the Ghanaian Yacoub Aziz in the 22nd and 43rd minutes and Pedro Amaral in the 33rd minute in a match in which ” Dragons were cut to 90+3 by Spaniard Tony Martinez after Iranian Mehdi Taremi missed a penalty in 62.
With this defeat, champions Porto are one point behind leaders Sporting de Braga and are level with Benfica, who have postponed their hosting of Pacos de Ferreira, scheduled for Tuesday, and Portimonense, all with nine, while “Rio Ave” climbs the group of 10th place, with four.
