Jose Mourinho on Inter Milan’s CL final against FC Bayern: “A perfect game”

In 2010, Inter Milan gave Bayern no chance in the Champions League final. In retrospect, Jose Mourinho describes the game as “perfect”.

Jose Mourinho, former Inter Milan coach, described Nerazzurri’s performance in the 2010 Champions League final against Bayern Munich as a “perfect game”. Inter won the title in Madrid against the Munich coached by Louis van Gaal with two goals from Diego Milito in a 2-0 draw.

“When we won the Champions League final with Inter Milan, it was a perfect game,” said Mourinho, brand ambassador for XTB. “We did what we prepared for. And I felt like we were always in control,” he added.

Mourinho: You expect the unexpected in football

His job as a coach is also to prepare the team for all eventualities. “The biggest surprise can then be that something goes perfectly according to plan, exactly as it was predicted,” said Mourinho, referring to the final. “In football you almost always expect something to happen that you don’t prepare for,” he said.

Mourinho celebrated his second CL triumph with Inter at that time after winning the handle pot with FC Porto. In the coming season, the Portuguese will sit on the bench at AS Roma.
