After her comeback for the Olympic Games in Beijing, Julia Dujmovits has finally ended her career.
“It was a big challenge to return to the World Cup after a break of more than two years. An exciting journey, on which step by step I reconnected with the absolute world class,” the 2014 Olympic champion is quoted as saying.
“The way back was 100 percent worth it. By winning the bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom at the 2021 World Championships in Rogla and winning the World Cup together with Arvid Auner last January in the team competition in Bad Gastein, she added two nice chapters to her sporting career.
“I am very proud of what I have achieved and experienced in my career. My dream of Olympic gold has come true, and I was allowed to carry the Austrian flag into the stadium at an opening ceremony (2022 in Beijing, note) and a closing ceremony (2014 in Sochi, note) at the Winter Games,” says the 35- year-old, who can also look forward with joy in her private life, as she is expecting her first child.
More on that shortly…
