The 25-year-old, who was most recently under contract with Floridsdorfer AC (FAC) and is at home in central midfield, has been given a contract until the summer of 2024.
He came to the FAC via the Academy of Vienna Austria and Austria Lustenau. Krainz completed 166 games in the second division.
In the past season, Krainz, who also has 36 international matches (various youth teams) under his belt, was voted into the team of the season. “Marco’s performances played a key role in FAC’s great season last year. The fact that we were able to guide him to us on the last transfer day is a great story,” sports director Tino Wawra is quoted as saying in a club broadcast.
“The club has precise goals and ideas that appealed to me and convinced me from the start. You could already see in the last few years what a positive development the club has taken,” says Krainz.
