The 24-year-old striker made the move from LASK to FC Vizela, who is playing his second season in Portugal’s top flight, on Thursday evening, signing a two-year contract. The WAC meanwhile gave their Croatian attacker Dario Vizinger on loan to the German second division club Jahn Regensburg.
Schmidt has been under contract with the athletes since 2020, but in 2020/21 he was on loan for St. Pölten. He made 34 appearances for Linz, scoring five goals and three assists.
“I can’t wait to get started. It’s a good club. It feels like a family, a good environment to improve. I’ve heard the team has a lot of quality,” said Schmidt. Vizela is eleventh in the league after four rounds with five points.
