US centre-back John Brooks, who has spent his entire career in German football, is a reinforcement for Benfica, signing a one-year contract with the Luz club, the Lisbon badge announced this Thursday.
“The 29-year-old centre-back John Brooks is an addition to the professional football team Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The North American International signed a contract for one season (until 2023),” the “embodied” said through the official website.
Brooks, 29, became a free agent after cutting ties with Wolfsburg last season, the club he represented for five years and played in 146 games, scoring seven goals.
