The FPF Disciplinary Council “does not consider” the issue of bringing the SportTV journalist to justice

The Disciplinary Board (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) said this Thursday that it is not considering sanctioning a SportTV journalist who questioned Sporting CP coach Rubén Amorim about striker Islam Slimani.

“The CD was obliged by the rules of the League’s regulations to initiate disciplinary proceedings, since it was included in the report of the delegate, but it does not consider the issue of punishing the journalist,” said an official source of the HD FPF.

According to the same source, it was decided to make the process “urgent”, which should also serve to “clarify a clear constitutional inconsistency” with the rule contained in the competition regulations.

On Wednesday, the Union of Journalists called an “assault on freedom of the press” a case brought by the FPF CD against a journalist over a question posed to Sporting CP coach Rubén Amorim.

The lawsuit, initiated on 30 August, came after a SportTV journalist asked a quick interview in the zone after the match between Sporting CP and Desportivo de Chavez (0:2) for the First Football League. coach of the Lions “outside the context of the game just ended,” the union said in a statement.

The question asked in the quick interview area was about former Sporting CP player Islam Slimani.
