Santa Clara SAD chief executive Klauss Camara said this Saturday that management is still “trying to reorganize” the club to “operate within the law” in response to the UEFA fine.

Speaking to reporters at the San Miguel Stadium in Ponta Delgada, the CEO of SAD Azorean recalled that the UEFA fine relates to the 2021/22 season, noting that the current administration, led by Bruno Visintin, “has been in place for less than two months” . in the context of the club.

“We still need to understand a few elements within the club processes to try to reorganize and rebuild, so that Santa Clara operates within the framework of the rule of law, within the framework of what is transparency and our leadership style,” he said.

As part of the financial monitoring of clubs included in the continental competitions of the 2021/22 season, UEFA fined Santa Clara, who played in the 2021/22 Europa League qualifying rounds, €10,000 for “minor violations of the balance requirements”. .

Klauss Camara stressed that the fine arises from a “regulatory process” for the financial situation of clubs imposed by UEFA and that it is “beneficial to football”.

“It will be feared only by those who do not do things the way they should be done. For our part, we are very confident in this. It is possible to play strong and competitive football correctly, within the framework of the law and legality,” he stressed. .

The CEO of Santa Clara appeared this Saturday in the press room of the San Miguel Stadium in Ponta Delgada, accompanied by club president Ricardo Pacheco, at the first press conference of the new administration of the Azores SAD.

Klauss Kamara said he was “confident” that the current line-up would “bring great joy”, acknowledging that “renovation work” is underway and “takes time”.

“Now this is a transitional moment, and we need to be calm and calm, and understand that there will be results soon,” he said.

Camara said the administration’s “goal” was to “strengthen” Santa Clara, both in terms of internal “processes” and “infrastructure.”

“The project of this administration is to be able to use and make Santa Clara even bigger. There are several important elements such as reaching out to several Azoreans living around the world and even more consolidation of a brand that is already well positioned in football,” he stressed.

The CEO said that the current administration had paid off the Azores’ debts to Atlético Paranaense (about one million euros) and to the bank, and praised the existing “alliance” with the club.

Club president Ricardo Pacheco also praised the “communication” between the club and the SAD, arguing that Santa Clara “could only reach other levels” if the two organizations were “hand in hand”.
