Palmeiras, champion of the Libertadores in 2020 and 2021, managed to turn the tie around, with an initial goal from Gustavo Scarpa (minute 3) and another from Paraguayan Gustavo Gómez in minute 55.
The script of the match changed just before the break, when Palmeiras was left with 10 when central defender Murilo saw a direct red card.
With one more player, Paranaense went on the attack and managed to equalize with goals from Pablo (64) and Uruguayan David Terans (85), who had entered minutes before.

With qualification, Paranaense puts an end to Palmeiras’ continental reign and will play their second Libertadores final, after losing in 2005 against São Paulo.
Their rival in Guayaquil will come out of the other semifinal, which will be played this Wednesday by Flamengo and Vélez in Rio de Janeiro, with a 4-0 advantage in the first leg for the Cariocas.
