The NBA professionals Schröder and Franz Wagner entered the tournament as the stars of the team.

Victory over the European Champion:

A boost for the euphoria before the home tournament was four days before the start of the clear victory over European champions Slovenia with Luka Doncic. At 90:71 in Munich, Schröder and Co. indicated their potential and also limited Dallas star Doncic.

Inspiring EM evenings:

Clear victory over France, successful crime with two overtimes against the Lithuanians and a big surprise against Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Greeks. Basketball Germany experienced inspiring evenings at the European Championships. The halls in Cologne and Berlin were full, from the quarter-finals RTL presented the games at prime time on free TV.

Dampener against Spain:

The first European Championship final since 2005 was within reach, but the German team lost a ten-point lead against Spain around veteran Rudy Fernandez in the final quarter.
