Racing got rid of a tough rival and puts pressure on the fight for the title

The only goal of the match was scored by the attacker of the “Academy” Maximilian Romero (the first with the Racing shirt) at 14 minutes of the second stage.

The win left Racing in fourth position with 34 points, two behind the leader Gym (plays on Tuesday against Central Córdoba of Santiago del Estero), while Platense continues with 29 units and in ninth place.

Platense had a start to pure offensive vertigo with two scoring chances before two minutes, taking advantage of the fact that Racing had not yet fully settled into the field.

As the minutes passed, the visit matched the process of the match, although it did not have clear plays to try to bother the goalkeeper Mark Ledesma.

The development of the game was very disputed, and although the “albiceleste” team had a little more ball, the “Squid” was more vertical.

The beginning of the second stage showed the two teams without clear game ideas and with a parity in development.

At 14 minutes, after an individual play by Emiliano Vecchiothe ball was left to Rosemary who defined with class over the body of goalkeeper Ledesma to score his first goal with the shirt of Racing.

After the goal in favor, Avellaneda’s men were patient in handling the ball and resorted to judicious passes to try to get closer to the goalkeeper Ledesma.

The “Squid”, meanwhile, could not generate play to achieve at least a draw and lacked the offensive power shown at the start of the game.

The last quarter of an hour had a lackluster development, with a Racing that gave the ball to its rival, that although it had a little more it was not clear to reach equality.

On the next day (21st.) Racing will host Unión de Santa Fe, while Platense will visit Rosario Central.
