Linz City Night Run: A record breaker that is actually on a break

Linz City Night Run: A record breaker that is actually on a break

“I knew that the record would run out,” said the athlete from Linz, whose season actually ended three weeks ago. “Since then I’ve more or less had a break from training,” says the 18-year-old. The fastest woman was Kerstin Springer from Rohrbach (18:39).

Even if the temperatures were far from late summer, more than 1500 runners were able to enjoy the dry weather. Organizer Ewald Tröbinger (ASKÖ Tri Linz) was also happy about the “surprisingly large number of registrations”.

Sparkasse board director Herbert Walzhofer, himself a passionate runner, was thrilled. “The Night Run was a complete success. Walking through Linz at night with the joy of movement is a unique experience.” The many musical groups ensured a good atmosphere along the route, and for the first time this year the moderator duo “2:tages:bart” were also actively involved as mood makers . “They motivated the runners to do their best,” said Walzhofer.
