Real Madrid sought a transfer from Kylian Mbappe in the summer. At PSG, Los Blancos’ approach was not well received.
Leonardo, sports director of Paris Saint-Germain, has expressed clear criticism of Real Madrid’s approach in the negotiations over a possible transfer of Kylian Mbappe. In addition, the PSG manager was confident of being able to hold Mbappe beyond 2022.
Until recently, Real had tried to pull Mbappe out of Paris. If it had been up to Leonardo, the royal would have reported earlier.
“We weren’t happy with Real Madrid’s behavior. To start negotiations with one of the best players in the world in the last week of the transfer window – we didn’t like that,” said the PSG sporting director Canal+ .
He also revealed details about the amount of the transfer fee: “We had a clear stance on your offer, in our opinion it was too low. It was less than we had paid. The last offer you mentioned never came.”
What should be meant is that Real should not have offered the 200 million euros rumored in the media – PSG once paid 180 million euros for Mbappe.
PSG sporting director Leonardo: “I don’t see Mbappe leaving”
Whether Mbappe will move to Madrid at all seems more open than ever – although his PSG contract expires next summer.
At least Leonardo was confident that he could continue to rely on Mbappe: “A new contract? We don’t imagine our future without him. I don’t see him going at the end of the season.”
