After his strong season at Eintracht Frankfurt, Andre Silva will stay with the Bundesliga. The Portuguese joins RB Leipzig.
Center forward Andre Silva is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to Bundesliga competitor RB Leipzig with immediate effect. The Saxons officially announced this on Friday evening.
According to media reports, the transfer fee for Silva, whose contract in Frankfurt would have been valid until 2023, is 23 million euros. The 25-year-old signed in Leipzig for five years until 2026.
RB Leipzig: With Andre Silva finally a successor for Timo Werner?
Silva, who was part of Portugal’s European Championship squad and failed in the round of 16 against Belgium with Cristiano Ronaldo and Co., had scored 28 Bundesliga goals for Frankfurt last season. Only Bayern star Robert Lewandowski (41 goals) met more often.
Silva had been wearing the Frankfurter Eintracht jersey since 2019 and had moved from AC Milan to Main at the time. In Leipzig he is supposed to compensate for Timo Werner’s departure to Chelsea with a year late.
