River vs Platense: Time, TV and formations

The “millionaire” team is in fourth place with 41 points (four behind the leader Boca, who owes a match against Gimnasia y Esgrima) and has won three consecutive victories, the last 1-0 against Patronato de Paraná as a visitor.

Those led by coach Marcelo Gallardo have mathematical chances of fighting for the title, although it is unlikely that they will achieve it because there are nine points left to play for the definition of the tournament.

River’s main objective, then, is to qualify for the next Copa Libertadores through the annual table, something that will seal in the event of a victory against “Squid”.

DT Gallardo will once again have soccer players Santiago Simón and Lucas Beltrán available, who received medical discharge after recovering from a sprained ankle and a muscle spasm, respectively.

Striker Beltrán is an alternative to return to the starting lineup, although Colombian Miguel Ángel Borja, scorer of the winning goal against the Paraná team, would remain a fixture in the attack zone alongside Pablo Solari.

The “Muñeco” also has a doubt in the midfield: Enzo Pérez had to leave the field of play for Ezequiel Barco against Patronato due to a problem in his right ankle.

Pérez, 36, will be evaluated by River Plate’s technical and medical staff and the intention is to wait for him until the last minute. In the event that he does not arrive in conditions, his place could be occupied by Santiago Simón, already recovered.

Along the same lines, defender Paulo Díaz will also be evaluated due to the cut on his left knee for which he had to be given five stitches and if his place did not arrive, Leandro González Pirez would cover it.

Franco Armani will remain in the goal, while the rest of the defense will be occupied by Andrés Herrera, Emanuel Mammana, Díaz or González Pirez and Milton Casco.

Platense, meanwhile, is in the 13th. place with 31 units, without chances of qualifying for international competitions. In the last presentation they fell 2-1 against Colón de Santa Fe as a local.

The coach Omar de Felippe could include the experienced Gonzalo Bergessio to replace Vicente Taborda in the “Squid” attack in what would be the only modification to visit River at the Mas Monumental stadium.

The record between River Plate and Platense records a total of 139 clashes with 88 wins for the “Millionaire”, 22 for the “Squid” and 29 draws.
