Swiss fan: Luca Loutenbach has the next big appearance against Spain

Luca Loutenbach has been an internet star since beating France. And of course there are also pictures of him from the encounter against Spain.

When a football game of major importance takes place, there are of course several photographers in the stadium. You photograph players, coaches, sometimes choreographies – and are on the hunt for the perfect picture. And that as quickly as possible so that the journalists in the online editorial team always have the right photos to choose from in the live reporting.

Sometimes you can also find photos of celebrities in the picture agencies. Last Tuesday, for example, there were quick pictures of Prince William, who followed the game against Germany with his wife Kate and son Prince George. On Friday evening you could also find photos of Luca Loutenbach in the agencies – if you entered his name in the search. This fact describes very well how crazy the hype about the Swiss superfan developed. At first, cheering pictures of him went viral, then he gave interviews, and now sponsors are even chasing him (read more here).

The Swiss super fan posts a picture from St. Petersburg

Loutenbach, who is followed by around 200,000 people on Instagram, also spoke up from the game in St. Petersburg and posted this photo on the social network:

A tweet from the “Footy Humor” account, which is followed by more than a million people, also ensured a wide reach. There a photo was distributed with a short and crisp text: “The legend is back.”

Now, however, Luca Loutenbach’s journey is over. Because: Switzerland lost to Spain – in a dramatic penalty shoot-out (read more here). The Swiss forced the next favorite into extra time, but this time the team failed from the point on the nerve. She only converted one penalty and missed the round of the last four.

There will therefore no longer be any new cheers from the Swiss superfan at this tournament. And yet it will stay in your memory when you think back to the EM 2021 at some point.
