Normally it is often the stage for big concerts, the women’s tennis stars meet once a year, or the track and field athletes compete in their hall. Next week, Friday (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), the TipsArena Linz will be devoted entirely to running. At the marathon fair located there, not only the thousands of participants in the anniversary run will receive their starting documents. A visit with free admission is also worthwhile for many others.
Exhibitor variety: A lot is offered on more than 4000 square meters of exhibition space. Running organizers, sponsors and market leaders in the running industry present their topics. One of the largest exhibitors is Intersport Winninger. With an area of 750 square meters alone, the stand will be transformed into Austria’s largest running shop for the weekend, as Martin Ditzer, manager of the Linz branch, reveals. In addition to many new products, last year’s bargains will also be sold at lower prices. “For the first time we also have e-bikes from the Trauner company My Esel. They are demonstration bikes and you can buy them at a really unbeatable price,” reveals Ditzer.
Late entry: Missed the last entry deadline at the end of September? No problem at all this year. If you don’t want to wait until the Marathon Expo, where late entries can still be made for one of the competitions, you can do so online in advance. An offer that numerous late-determiners are already taking advantage of. “We already have a few people who have registered later this way,” says OC boss Günther Weidlinger. This is still easily possible at www.linzmarathon.at.
