Blue and white won the OÖ derby against Steyr 4:1

The favorites from Linz celebrated a 4:1 home win against their rivals from Steyr in the 12th round. FC Liefering won 3-0 in Lafnitz, while Admira won their home game against Dornbirn 1-0. The Südstadt-based team is now fifth in the table with 20 points, Blau Weiß (19) pushed past Lafnitz (19) in seventh place.

Paul Mensah gave Linz a 1-0 lead with a dust-off in the 11th minute. At the beginning of the second half, Fally Mayulu increased his third goal of the season to 2-0 (53rd) and a little later tied a brace (58th). That was the end of the derby. Substitute Ronivaldo scored with a penalty kick (84th), while ex-Linzer Tobias Pellegrini (91st) made cosmetic gains. Steyr is only 15th with ten points.

Liefering’s Oumar Diakite made things clear early on in Lafnitz with two goals in the first half (3rd, 25th). The Swiss Federico Crescenti put the final point in the 93rd minute. The Liefering team improved to 13th place with eleven points. Patrick Schmidt (63rd) shot Admira to three points in Südstadt against Dornbirn.

On Sunday, the Vienna (22 points) in the home game against the Young Violets and Amstetten (21) at Sturm Graz II can move closer to the leaders Horn (26) in terms of points.
