World Cup record goal scorer Miroslav Klose could apparently inherit Stefan Kuntz as German U21 national coach after his departure to Turkey.
After Stefan Kuntz left the DFB for Turkey, the position of U21 coach is vacant and Miroslav Klose is a candidate at the DFB. Oliver Bierhoff now responded to questions about a new coach.
Among other things, the DFB director was asked about external solutions and, in particular, Miroslav Klose as a candidate. Bierhoff did not rule out both.
Klose and Flick already together at FC Bayern
Should a candidate be found, he would have to get the approval of national coach Hansi Flick: “You will not push it against Hansi, definitely not,” said Bierhoff.
Klose most recently worked as a youth coach at FC Bayern Munich and also acted as Flick’s assistant coach at FCB in the 2020/21 season, but has been without a job since then.
