Arsenal have announced that Gabriel Magalhaes has extended his contract with the club on a long-term basis.
The Brazilian joined the Gunners from Lille in 2020 and has become an increasingly important player in a side reaping the rewards of confidence in Mikel Arteta’s development.
Gabriel has already made 83 appearances in all competitions and formed an impressive central defender pair with William Saliba this season.
The contract extension was confirmed in a statement on Arsenal’s website, Gabriel’s original contract ran until 2025. Information on the new term is not known.
Speaking on the club’s official website, Arteta said of the new contract: “Gabi has shown great qualities since he has been with us. He is a young player with a great work ethic and his consistently strong performances over the past two seasons have been hugely important to us. Arsenal are expected next to sign Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli after signing the 24-year-old centre-back.
