After only one year in England, James Rodriguez is moving on: The Colombian is now moving from Everton to Qatar.
James Rodriguez is leaving Everton FC and is now playing for Al-Rayyan. The Qatar club officially announced this on Wednesday. Nothing is known about the amount of the transfer fee for the Colombian, who ran for FC Bayern between 2017 and 2019.
The offensive player only moved from Real Madrid to “Toffees” in September 2020. Under his favorite coach Carlo Ancelotti, he triumphed last season and scored six goals in 23 games for the club from Liverpool.
Blanc is training James Rodriguez from now on
Under the new coach Rafa Benitez, Ancelotti said goodbye to Real Madrid, Rodriguez then had much worse cards. The Spanish coach did without him in the league games of the previous season, so he now saw the change as a way out. His contract with Everton ran until 2023.
At Al-Rayyan, James Rodriguez has a well-known name as a coach in Laurent Blanc. The club’s squad also includes Yacine Brahimi (formerly FC Porto), a player who was previously successful in Europe.
