The police spoke Friday morning of several physical injuries, evictions and arrests. The “followers” of the guests used pepper spray against the police, who in turn responded with the use of pepper spray. There is also some massive damage to property.
Already on Wednesday, the Austrian national holiday, some fans from Rotterdam had traveled to Graz and caused a stir in the city center with pyrotechnics. A similar picture could be seen on Thursday afternoon: Feyenoord fans lit Bengal fire in the main square and then headed towards the stadium. On the way there, they caused several damage to property.
Pepper spray against police officers
While the duel between the teams was being played out on the field, there were isolated riots between the fans. After the end of the game, the Dutch supporters then threw objects at the police officers and used pepper spray. The police also had to use pepper spray several times, according to a broadcast on Friday. Massive property damage was noticed both in and around the stadium.
Videos of the clean-up work in the stadium after the match show completely destroyed toilet facilities with toilets and urinals that have been smashed or completely torn away. The ceramics were apparently smashed on the floor in the toilet rooms, but also partly outside, doors may have been thrown down several meters over the railings. Several fans and police officers were injured when the supporters left after the game.

The whirlwind continued throughout the night. The police were still busy in the morning with the processing and documentation of all incidents. Apparently there was also a knife attack among the fans – but more details were not yet known.
