Mick Schumacher will stay with Haas in 2022

As expected, Mick Schumacher has extended his contract with the US racing team Haas. Team mate Nikita Masepin also remains loyal to the team. All in all, all driver pairings in Formula 1 have been determined – with one exception.

Mick Schumacher is also driving for the US racing team Haas in his second Formula 1 season. As the Americans announced on Thursday, the 22-year-old will receive a contract for the year 2022. Further details of the cooperation have not been announced. Schumacher has been driving in the motorsport premier class since this year and has recommended himself for at least one more season in the defeated car, even without championship points. The 22-year-old Russian Nikita Masepin remains the teammate of the son of record world champion Michael Schumacher.

“As part of the Formula 1 field, I am living my dream. The first year with Haas is very exciting and educational. I am sure that I will be able to bring all of the experience I have gained into the coming year,” said Schumacher in a communication.

Best result: 12th place at the Hungarian Grand Prix

Schumacher, who belongs to Ferrari’s junior academy, entered Formula 1 as the champion of the most important junior racing series Formula 2. His best result so far is a twelfth place in the Hungarian Grand Prix. In his weak car he has little chance of good results so far and only drives at the bottom of the field. After all, he regularly prevailed against his stable rival Masepin.

In the coming season, Haas should move forward, also against the background of a new set of rules and changed cars. The team is already working intensively on the development of the new car and has stopped working on the current vehicle.

These are the driver pairings for 2022:
