General Manager Sean Marks recognized Nash’s work as he faced unprecedented challenges. The decision to part with the 48-year-old ex-professional was extremely difficult, but a change was necessary at this point.
Nash thanked the club in a statement on Twitter. He had managed the second win of the season with the team in a 116:109 against the Indiana Pacers, but there are five losses.
After a weak start, there was more excitement about star player Kyrie Irving. After Irving did not want to be vaccinated against the corona virus and was therefore only available to a limited extent, he recently caused a stir with a tweet about a film criticized as anti-Semitic. The club had distanced itself from Irving’s statements. Another star on the team, Kevin Durant, spoke out against Nash over the summer.
